Neighborhood BeautificationThe attractiveness of our neighborhood depends in part on the appearance of our streets and the cleanliness of our alleys. The City of Dallas no longer provides street sweeping as it did in the past and has not since 1989. It is now the responsibility of the homeowner to keep the street, alley and cube side clean and clear of grass, leaves, trash and debris. We know that picking up trash is a daily task that needs to be done in Oakland Terrace to keep our streets looking their best. Removing grass from the sidewalks in front of your home can also be a simple beautification task if managed on a regular basis. Use a weed eater, or old-fashioned grass shears, together with weed killer such as “Round-Up” to eliminate this problem for an entire season. It may be autumn but weekly grooming should not end with cooler weather. The leaves from our beautiful trees can be unattractive if ignored for too long. Due to less rainfall your lawn and foundation need a little more water to help with the root system for a more beautiful lawn next spring and it also helps to prevent damage to your homes foundation. |
